Latino Leaders Convene at Intl Gathering to Interpret Hidden Hurdles Facing Christian Hispanics

Bishop T.D. Jakes Offers Platform for Faith-Based Leaders to Discuss Cultural Shifts, Religious Polarization and More at Inaugural ¡Dios Mío! Roundtable, April 24

The religious landscape of Latinos in America is shifting significantly. Recent Pew Research Center studies indicate that religious Latinos are identifying themselves as former Catholics (net loss of 25%) more than ever before. Global thought-leader and statesman, Bishop T.D. Jakes is bringing Hispanic leaders together to explore the intersectionality of the Christian faith and the unique challenges facing Latinos in America through this first-ever “¡Dios Mío!” roundtable conversation happening at the 2019 International Pastors & Leadership Conference.

Select media and a limited number of community leaders/guests are invited to register and attend the exclusive live taping event.

The English-language discussion will address topics such as:

  • Current challenges facing Christian Hispanics such as immigration and trust in authorities (panel to discuss solutions)
  • The changing landscape of Hispanics’ religious identity in America
  • How the church can effectively support and address issues facing the Hispanic community, both domestically and globally
  • How community and faith leaders should interpret changes and make a difference within their own communities

Emmy-winning journalist and TV host Myrka Dellanos will moderate the panel conversation of faith-based experts including: Julio Hobaish, associate pastor at The Potter’s House of Fort Worth; Rafael Sanchez, pastor at the House of Worship Ministries in New Jersey; and Diane Cortes, president at the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Tampa Bay. Panelists are available for interviews in English and Spanish, upon request.
