With Food Inflation Up, MegaFEAST Event to Lend a Hand by Providing Groceries for Thousands
T.D. Jakes’ global humanitarian organization United MegaCARE, in partnership with Wells Fargo, to provide meal boxes for 1,500 Central Florida families
With U.S. inflation up by 3% in January, including grocery prices that experienced the biggest monthly increase since June 2015, many Americans are finding basic food items like a carton of eggs out of reach. Hoping to ease the financial crunch felt by families, United MegaCARE, a global philanthropic organization founded by T.D. Jakes, will host MegaFEAST, a drive-through food distribution presented by Wells Fargo, on Wednesday, April 9, 9 a.m. – noon ET at The Kingdom Church International in Orlando.
MegaFEAST will serve 1,500 families through food boxes valued at $150 each and designed to feed 5-6 people each. The boxes, which will be assembled and distributed by hundreds of volunteers, will contain a variety of foods including protein (chicken, ground beef), starch (mashed potatoes and rice), vegetable (frozen broccoli), bread and dessert. The total in-kind donation amount of the boxes is $225,000.
Pre-registration to receive a food box is available here. Please note that walkups may not be accommodated.
The MegaFEAST food distribution will immediately precede the 2025 International Leadership Summit, an annual three-day conference that meets leaders at the intersection of business and faith. The summit will take place April 10-12 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, where it is expected to draw leaders and entrepreneurs from around the world. The International Leadership Summit was last in Orlando in 2023.
